LMCC is back for the 2021-2022 academic year!
Our first meeting will take place Wednesday, August 25 at 5:30pm est! We will meet in the large white tent/pavilion in Polk Place, in front of Wilson Library. This outdoor venue should allow us all to meet in person while still feeling safe. If anyone would like to join our meeting but feels uncomfortable/unable to join in person, please let us know, and we should be able to let you join via Zoom.
For this meeting, we’ll be discussing American Eugenics: Race, Queer Anatomy, and the Science of Nationalism by Nancy Ordover (2003). Specifically, we’d like everyone to read the Introduction and a single chapter of your choice. The introduction is available on the “Readings” page of the LMCC website. You can access the full text of the book and download a specific additional chapter through the UNC Libraries. If you run into issues accessing it, just let us know.
All of our meetings this semester will take place at 5:30pm est on the last Wednesday of each month. For now, we plan to always meet in person, although we are willing to let people also attend via Zoom. We will post updates for each location for each upcoming meeting.
We hope to see you all there!
