The August 2022 LMCC meeting will actually take place on Thursday, September 1 at 5:30pm est. We will be meeting in person in the HHIVE Lab, also known as Gaskin Library, Greenlaw Hall, Room 524. If you can’t join us in person, you can also attend via Zoom at https://unc.zoom.us/j/99228197675. If you have trouble with the Zoom link, please email either of the Co-Directors.

For August, we will discuss Abigail A. Dumes’s 2020 monograph Divided Bodies: Lyme Disease, Contested Illness, and Evidence-Based Medicine from Duke University Press. Specifically, we plan to discuss the introduction, “Lyme Disease Outside In” (pp. 1-25).

All members of the UNC community can access the full text of the book online through the UNC Libraries. We’ve also posted .pdfs of the book’s front matter (including the TOC) and the introduction on the “Readings” page of the LMCC website. If you run into trouble getting access to the text, please let us know. (See our email addresses on the Home page of this site).

As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to meeting with you for an exciting discussion of this work!
